MD Helicopters MD 902 Explorer for FSX/P3D
2 reviewsThe MD 902 launched in 1989, as McDonnell Douglas Helicopters initialized development on the Explorer, which was then referred to as MDX. Explorer incorporated Boeing's, NOTARĀ® anti-torque technology system and Pratt & Whitney Canada's, PW207E series engines. In September, 1992, improvements to the Explorer increased range, endurance and enabled a higher maximum takeoff weight. With these enhancements, the Explorer unofficially became designated MD 902. As one of the most technically advanced helicopters, the MD 902 Explorer continues to make improvements including greater safety, lower noise levels, and enhanced performance and controllability. Also notable in the MD 902, is its ample usable interior space for occupants and storage. Read more...

Even though FSX didn't simulate tail rotor fail conditions from contact, this is an awesome helo to fly in VR. She's a little more nimble than the Bell Jetranger, but very responsive, especially when I klutzed her up as a helicopter noob...I could still get her level and with some altitude, and at least get her on the ground without tearing up the main rotor.
If I were fully trained and licensed I'd want one of these. More so because of medical experience, and the built-in medivac livery makes it an authentic design. The cockpit is very modern but not intimidating if you recognize the common features.

I had purchased the MD902 direct from Nemith Designs and had installed it into FSX Acceleration. There is not install exe. file? However, when trying to load the aircraft then visual model could not be displayed. I have sent many emails to Nemith designs over the past six months without the courtesy of a single reply. I had installed the ND BK117 without any problems. I had tried to find out from other sources online, but there is nothing listed to show me how to amend the visual model problem. I had also tried to install the aircraft into FSX steam and had the same issue with the visual mode.
