Icarusgold Northrop Gamma for FSX

Developed using the FSX Software Development Kit, you can be sure that there will be absolutely no compatibility issues when flying this aircraft. The new highly detailed model is a good representation of the single-engine, all metal monoplane built in the 1930's. The very same that was piloted from Los Angeles to New York in record time by Frank Hawks in 1933. The textures show a fair amount of detail and feature mapping that allows for dynamic shines on the surface of the Gamma. As well as simply boosting the visuals, these make it feel like the aircraft is a part of the simulated world around it.

All of the animations you would expect to find on the exterior model are present and accounted for, including a few you may not expect. For instance, these guys put the time in to add a fully animated vintage pilot, who you can see when using the external cameras. Although difficult to see at times, it is a much appreciated feature, because suddenly noticing there is no one in the cockpit can really snap you out of an immersive experience and small touches like this can help avoid that by aiding in our suspension of disbelief.

The stunning and dynamic virtual cockpit is the best place to be in order to really sink into the experience. Everything in the cockpit is fully clickable, providing the most realistic experience possible, while pop-ups for GPS and the throttle lever assist in the user friendly department. Meanwhile, working hard in the background, is a custom engine sound set that gives the Gamma more depth and character, making it all the more enjoyable to fly.

This package provides a great model of a historic aircraft, with two flights and two modified sceneries thrown into the mix as well. Making this a pretty well rounded package at a very reasonable price.
