Now, whether you're an expert on this kind of aircraft or you've never had the pleasure of flying one in the past, you can use this mod to try out of one of the most beloved aircraft of the Second World War era.

Developed during the most intense battle of modern history, this aircraft was considered to be one of the first true jet fighter style aircraft, with its quirky design and unique flying nature making it far different to anything else that has served up until that point.

More impressively, the aircraft done a great job of providing the future with the kind of aircraft we have today - it was one of the biggest inspirations for some time for lots of people!

While it may have been too late to actively serve during the war itself, it brought a new line of thinking towards military aviation and began the era of the jet fighter - an era that we have yet to leave.

With over 4000 of these unique aircraft created over the years, this two-seat aircraft is mostly used today for training and for various simple tasks. If you've always wanted to try one out for yourself, now's the time!

What's Included?

Like any good mod, this comes equipped with a range of new textures with four detailed texture sets included to bring it all together and make each model truly stand out and look their best - this is improved further by the addition of key liveries and designs such as;

  • T.11 Vampire, 19 Sqdn., RAF Church Fenton, c. 1957
  • T.22 Sea Vampire, 750 Sqdn., FAA, Hal Far (Malta), 1965
  • T.22 Sea Vampire, 'Admiral's Barge', Station Flight, Yeovilton
  • T.35 Vampire, Telstars Aerobatic Team, RAAF, 1967

This really does a great job in promoting the unique look and feel of the original aircraft, bringing the full thing together to look the very best that it can.

New Features

Another significant factor from this modification was the addition of the new features which promote the positive impression of this aircraft for modern pilots - the included features in this package include additions like;

  • Massive reworking of the visual aspect of the aircraft has been taken to account, making sure that the whole package comes with a fresh design that really captures the look and feel of the real thing, making it look its absolute best.

  • This is improved with the addition of a new, virtual cockpit that comes complete with new animations, mousable controls and much more to help it all come together and look the very best that it can without ever reducing the level of performance that you can get from your simulator.

  • A brand new selection of all-XML 2D panels are included. These panels are a wonderful choice and can be the perfect solution for you to make the aircraft more accessible as well as more attractive. The new custom pop-ups that appear do a great job of helping you manage the aircraft from the autopilot to the radio system that's fitted.

  • A new, automatic and on throttle animated turbine glow effect is included. This extra little feature goes a long way to selling the overall look and feel of the real thing, making it much easier than ever before to buy into the style of this kind of aircraft. The turbine glow effect kicks in as and when it's needed, making a huge difference to presentation.

  • A new, automated smoke trail will also burst out of the back out of the aircraft when you take off. This adds to the visual appeal of the flight as much as anything else, also making sure that the wing surface vapor flash and the wingtip vortices effects really help.

  • New animated speed brakes are included for those who want to make sure they are managing the aircraft properly. The visual addition that this brings to the table makes a massive difference to the overall progression and format of the image, making it look even better than it's ever done!

  • An automated canopy is included, too. This simple feature just adds another little layer of realism that looks wonderful and makes the whole visual appeal of the aircraft come spectacularly to life. Improved further by the addition of the easy usage - simply hit SHIFT+E to make this appear for you.

  • New, highly authentic changes are made to the flight model to make sure that all of the little things are included, really helping to sell the image and format of the real thing. Looks wonderful and also gives you access to a much needed little checklist to keep you on the right track and make sure you aren't making too many mistakes along the way. Improves the overall accuracy and control that you fly with.

  • New virtual cockpit rain effects are included for all FS9 users, making it look even more atmospheric from inside the cockpit and improving realism dramatically.

  • New crew figures which are full independent if you would rather not have them included, adding further to the overall look and feel of realism.

  • A fresh soundset to go with all of the new visual changes. As a main part of the aircraft - its sound was one of the true factors that people could remember, such was its distinction at the time - the audio files added in here do a wonderful job of promoting the aircraft and making it sound authentic.

  • This is a massive change in the whole look and feel of the aircraft, changing the atmosphere of the flight far more than any other aspect - it's the sounds that help to sell the atmosphere to you when you are flying and this does a great job of doing just that.

5 of 5 Stars!

Not usually a fan of aircraft like this, I decided to give it a whirl as a friend told me it was a lot of fun and I had fun using it on his sim. The whole idea of the project was a lot of fun and really made me realize just how different it could be to fly old-school aircraft in FSX and I immediately got into the spirit of things quite quickly with this.

It made flying around nice and simple which is always very good. The graphical side of things blew me away as they really got the attention to detail bang on. I took the liberty of looking up some videos of the aircraft and every little bit of detail managed to pop out at me. The team on this done a great job of bringing it all together and making the entire package look great. Well worth the effort to install on my part, which took ages as I had no ideas what I was doing lol!

Overall, the whole thing is really easy to use though and would definitely try out other classics now as well. The animations were brilliant and the fact it came with its own panel and cockpit etc. was just massive for me. The work that the guys who put this together obviously put into each design is so impressive, and I would love to try out more of their work in the future once I finally master flying this!
