The Malibu Mirage is one of those aircraft names that just sticks in the mind - and no wonder. When you see this thing in the air for the first time you'll likely be very impressed at the speed and consistency that it can pick up despite the fact that it does not look like much. Also, it's been the skies for not too far off 30 years so it really is no surprise that the Malibu Mirage is starting to look a little dated.

That being said, it's still one of the most enjoyable flights you can take on thanks to the ease of flying it - it's a real pilots dream. It's light and nimble nature added into the fact that it only uses one engine and five passengers means that you can easily pick up a fair amount of speed here, whilst also ensuring that the Malibu sticks with the tried and tested piston engine style.

It was first released in 1999 and from then on has become a rather popular member of the light aircraft world, giving the Piper PA range another nice little aircraft to have on the market for domestic purchases and usage in various formats.

The Malibu Mirage itself was a huge hit when it first arrived thanks to their stunning design and their - at the time - innovative cockpit installations. Although today they are quite dated compared to more modern equivalents, the Piper company who create them sell an estimated 30 Malibu Mirage aircraft every year!
